The Digital Lab in 2021

What a year. Exactly 12 months ago, none of us would have thought that the entire world would soon be in the grip of an invisible, but all the more dangerous enemy. In just a few months, the Corona virus has transformed society and the daily lives of each and every one of us. And there is still no realistic end to the pandemic in sight. Therefore, the coming year 2021 will unfortunately have to be dedicated to the fight against the virus once again.

Laboratories have a vital role to play in the fight against coronavirus. Whether in the local family practice or as part of a multinational company, efficiency, speed and information flow are needed more than ever! The more optimized results are exchanged, the sharper the weapons against the virus can be honed. And the best way to do this is with as little personal contact as possible.

Digitization is doing its part to ensure that lab work remains efficient even during the pandemic. The "Internet of Lab Things" - the networked collaboration of individual devices and appliances - as well as time- and location-independent work options have long been possible. The advantages are obvious: minimized risk of infection, minimum loss of time in generating and transmitting data, and simplified access to information.

What is the current situation in your lab? Are digital solutions and strategies already in use? We look forward to a lively exchange of experiences!
